Training Process
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3
Your training contract will be for 2 years. However, this accreditation gives you a high probability of reducing your training contract by a period of upto 6 months. This in turn doubles your earning potential by upto 6 months in advance. Of course any dispensation is at the discretion of the Law Society/Solicitors Regulatory Authority!
There is a shortage in police station accredited representatives and they are in constant demand. Upon qualification the Legal Services Commission will give you a grant of £400. (CDS13)
Once you are qualified you will be very eligible for employment by a criminal practice or you can work as a self-employed agent. We know of agents trained by us who earn in excess of £1,000 per week.
Can I Apply?
Please note before you can enrol on the course you must provide three independent references as to your character and fitness to be employed as a police station representative. You must also confirm there will be no conflict of interest in you undertaking criminal defence work. A criminal record check is required.
Your Next Steps
If you are suitably qualified and are interested in the training we can provide, we will invite you to attend an introductory interview/meeting at our office. Your attendance at this interview is compulsory so that you can fully understand the course and the services which PLT can offer. During this meeting you will be able to ask any questions as to the course content and the full extent of the training.
The fee for the course involving portfolio and C.I.T preparation and exam is £4,500. This figure involves all the internal training provided by our in-house lawyers and extensive training by our external trainer. It also includes one day’s training with the assessment organisation and the examination fees.
