If you satisfy the necessary criteria our aim is to help you qualify as a Solicitor as quickly as possible.
There has always been difficulty in entering the legal profession. This is even more acute today in the present economic climate and cut backs in legal aid.
Your passport into the legal profession is the Police Station Accreditation qualification.
This qualification considerably improves your chances in obtaining well paid employment with a firm of Solicitors or as an independent self-employed agent as there is a shortage of accredited representatives in Birmingham.
Police Station Accreditation is a valuable qualification enabling you to attend and advice suspects at Police Stations and be paid by the Legal Services Commission.
The Training Process
We appreciate that many students are considerably in debt having paid university and college of law fees. However, they cannot obtain employment and these qualifications have proved to be insufficient.
Our intensive training programme is primarily involved in the obtaining of the Police Station Accreditation qualification but will also cover training and hands-on experience of criminal law matters, including:
- attending clients
- file preparation
- attending conferences with counsel court attendances
- billing procedure
Stage 1
- Induction training
- Internal training by practicing solicitors and barristers
- External training with external lectures
- Registration with an assessment organisation
Stage 2
- Observing a supervising solicitor
- Preparation of Part A portfolio
- Training in portfolio preparation
- Submitting Part A portfolio for a pass certificate and confirmation
Stage 3
- Submitting application form with Legal Services Commission for Probationary Registration
- Training for the Critical Incidents Test exam
- Training for Part B portfolio
- Arranging for submissions of Part B portfolio
Your training contract will be for 2 years. However, this accreditation gives you a high probability of reducing your training contract by a period of upto 6 months. This in turn doubles your earning potential by upto 6 months in advance. Of course any dispensation is at the discretion of the Law Society/Solicitors Regulatory Authority
